Killer Contrast: How to Beat Trump

It’s time to pass judgement on Donald Trump. While I had hoped, somewhat irrationally, that some Republican Senators would honor their oath of office, I anticipated any effort to cast light on the Ukrainian debacle would be crushed by a Republican leadership unmoored from any fidelity to our country and constitution. Since Republican Senators are now complicit with a criminal president, those who care about the country must focus on picking the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump before he destroys America

I will vote for whoever is nominated by the Democratic Party. Every Democrat who seeks to persuade the virtues of their preferred candidate should always prefix their discussions with this assertion

In picking a candidate, contrast is the most important qualifying factor. I’m supporting Pete Buttigieg because he provides the most dramatic contrast:

1) He is truthful and fact driven vs the Serial Liar who prevaricates more frequently than he breathes

2) He wants to unite a broad coalition and be the president of all Americans rather than engage in the divisive wedge politics practiced by the Orange Creature.

3) He’s deeply connected to the Mid Western conservative electorate whose support is required to win the presidency. The Cute Hoor in the White House bamboozled these folks, last time around, stoking their fears and promising to fix the collapsed manufacturing economy.

4) He’s young and vital whereas the state of Flabby Boy’s enfeebled mental faculties is more flaccid than the corpse he calls a body.

5) He has the humility of a veteran who served his country rather than the Draft Dodging Bone Spur Braggart who would create an imperial hereditary presidency for him and his Klan

There are many other virtues that I could cite and like all other candidates there are also drawbacks to Buttigieg’s candidacy. No candidate is perfect, but a candidate that contrasts dramatically with the kleptocratic incumbent is central to restoring the White House to sanity.
